QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS

AN APPLICANT MUST:
be a United States Citizen
minimum age of 21 and maximum age of 40
have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, and two years of full time law enforcement experience with P.O.S.T. certification to qualify for maximum hire rate.
Be of good moral character
Pass a written examination with a competitive score administered by civil service.
Undergo a physical agility evaluation, including a drug screen.
Pass an extensive background investigation, including a possible polygraph examination.
Pass an oral interview.
Pass a thorough medical examination.
Possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license at time of selection.
· Not have had any misdemeanor or felony convictions, or conviction of any violation of the Family Domestic Violence Act.
· Successfully complete all training required.
