QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS

AN APPLICANT MUST:

  • be a United States Citizen

  • minimum age of 21 and maximum age of 40

  • have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, and two years of full time law enforcement experience with P.O.S.T. certification to qualify for maximum hire rate.

  • Be of good moral character

  • Pass a written examination with a competitive score administered by civil service.

  • Undergo a physical agility evaluation, including a drug screen.

  • Pass an extensive background investigation, including a possible polygraph examination.

  • Pass an oral interview.

  • Pass a thorough medical examination.

  • Possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license at time of selection.

  • · Not have had any misdemeanor or felony convictions, or conviction of any violation of the Family Domestic Violence Act.

  • · Successfully complete all training required.
